Outstanding career opportunity for a High Power Radar Transmitter Electrical Engineer in the Kwajalen Atoll. Marshall Islands. Electrical Engineer, Radar Transmitter
Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands: Provide operations and maintenance support for radar system.
Responsibilities: The Radar Transmitter Engineer supports day-to-day operational maintenance with the transmitter operator and Radar Operations Director to meet radar mission requirements. This requires the continuous evaluation of spares readiness. Candidate will be responsible for design of transmitter system enhancements and upgrades. Employee must be able to define off-line test setups to support diagnosing subassembly failures. The transmitter engineer is responsible for safety requirements involving the transmitter. Experience in the safe setup and conduct of measurements of high-voltage circuits, and dangerous X-ray and RF levels is required. Direct and schedules work for field engineers/technicians and coordinates activities with other subsystem engineers (software, receiver, digital). Provides training for new employees at site in all areas related to the transmitter. Will be the site expert and will be expected to perform all the duties to ensure mission success without guidance or supervision. Will work closely with system engineers on a regular basis.
Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Required Skills: Direct experience in designing/implementing improvements with respect to vacuum tube, high power peak pulsed microwave transmitters. Must also have experience in the design, support and debug of general RF equipment. Must be familiar with CAD tools including microwave design software. Experience with standard RF Measurement Equipment such as spectrum and network analyzers, and power meters. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills: Supervisory/Leadership experience.
Typical Experience: 10+ years Transmitter design or maintenance experience.
Education: BSEE (MSEE Preferred).
